APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Accessing raid might cause latency after long period of

    inactivity.

Local fix

  • Prevent long periods of raid inactivity by configuring
    frequent log or file access.

Problem summary

  • Customers making use of RAID volume might observe noticeable
delay when accessing RAID volume that is idle for a long period
    of time

Problem conclusion

  • Fix is available in 5.0.0.6. For 4.0.1 and 4.0.2, please upgrade
to 5.0.0.6, then do a boot switch (roll back) to the previous
    firmware level.

This is required as the fix is to a low level upgrade to the
RAID controller component that requires the 5.0.0 firmware to
complete the update. This fix will remain when the "boot
switch" CLI or "Firmware Roll-Back" GUI is performed.

Note: the roll back will restore the appliance to the state at
the time of the upgrade to the 5.0.0 firmware except for this
    fix.
