IC89556: WHEN DEFINING A RAC DATABASE THE TERMINOLOGY IS WRONG IN SCC - SHOULD NOT STATE SID BUT SERVICE NAME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When running configCC and configuringthe Cognos config section
  after a few trial and error runs, I found I hadto specify the
  Oracle RAC Service Name in lieu of the SID.  The promptasks for
  "SID" but in reality, when specifying the Oracle
  RACconfiguration the installer is actually asking for the
  "Service Name"alias to the database instance which is different
  from the SID.  Imight suggest that perhaps the installer
  question verbiage for the RACService Name should be tweaked
  appropriately.
  

Local fix

• Use Service Name instead of SID when prompted.
