An event indicating a port on the SAN switch may have a bad SFP, damaged cabling or dirty cable may be on the System Console > Events page. There is not an issue with the port or cable that needs to be addressed. The event message is: Port xx on the SAN switch may have a bad SFPs, damaged cabling or dirty cable
Local fix
Problem summary
The code monitoring possible error conditions on the hardware contained tolerances that were too low and were producing events on normal operating conditions.
Problem conclusion
The tolerance algorithm was improved and normal conditions are being excluded to decrease the amount of false event messages.
