Error description

  • In Tivoli Storage Manager for Mail: Data Protection for
Microsoft Exchange, the Mailbox Restore Browser may fail to
restore a mailbox that had been previously deleted. The Mailbox
Restore Browser displays the mailbox display name rather than
the mailbox alias name if a mailbox has been deleted and
recreated. You can still browse the messages and folders, but if
you attempt to restore the mailbox, the GUI cannot find the
recreated mailbox and fails with the following error:

The mailbox "<mailbox_name>" does not exist.

Local fix

  • Use the command line to restore the deleted mailbox ("tdpexec
    restoremailbox <mailboxname>")
