APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In case there is a FastBack Client trying to connect to the
    FastBack Server for a long time, the FastBack Server enters the
    instability loop.
    In such condition no scheduled tasks (Snapshots, Cleanup,
    Disaster Recovery, HeartBeat etc.) run and the FastBack Manager
    may experience connectivity problems on its start up or
    disconnection from the FastBack Server if already connected.

Local fix

  • 1) To disconnect all FastBack Clients from the FastBack Server
    2) To wait till the FastBack Server stabilization stage ends and
    the FastBack Manager is able to connect to the server again
    3) To connect the FastBack Clients one by one to identify the
    one which is trying to connect for long time.
    4) To disable the FastBack Client which tries to connect to the
    server for long time before using the FastBack Manager and to
    enable it after the FastBack Manager session ends if required.
