Problem conclusion
Fix is included in IBM solidDB V7.0 Interim Fix 7. A new server startup option and client-side (ODBC) configuration parameter have been added to set the limit after which memory allocations start to use system memory instead of the solidDB internal allocator. solidDB server startup option -xmaxslotalloc:<size_in_bytes> Default is 8192. Client-side configuration parameter [Client] MaxSlotAlloc=<size>; Default 8 K. By increasing the server-side and client-side setting for memory slot allocation, write transactions in tables that have large column sizes no longer increase latency. For example, in tables with 13 K column sizes, setting the memory slot allocation on both server and client side to 16384/16 K, the response times for UPDATEs are improved.
