  • After migration from PCOM 5.6 on Windows 2000 or XP to PCOM
    6.0.4 on Windows 7 when they transfer a file with TSO command
    IND$FILE from Host to Windows 7, if the file name contains a

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    When sending a PC file to a 3270 host using IND$FILE utility
    "TRANS18 invalid option specified" error may occur if the PC
    file name contains extended ASCII characters (alphabets with
    diacritics). The problem was reported using French host code
    pages, but may affect any other Western European Latin-1 code
    pages.

    The error is caused by the uppercase logic in PCSXFER.DLL.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSXFER.DLL has been changed so that no upper case conversion
    is done for diacritic characters in the PC file name used by
    IND$FILE utility.
