IC88716: INCORRECT WTX UTF-8 CONVERSION FROM XML TO FLAT FILE
Closed as program error.
When attempting a WTX xml-to-flat file conversion, the UTF-8 conversion is incorrect. For example, if the value "Évangeline" is in the input data, the expected output is "ﾐvangeline" with the accent on the E. This conversion is not occurring. The expected text is "ﾐvangeline" with the correct character UTF-8 encoded to C3 89 (hex). This problem is present for any extended character if it is at the first position inside the node. For example, <xml>ﾂvangeline</xml> is converted to flat text "évangeline" while the expected text is "ﾂvangeline". If there a second extended character (with an accent), the problem is not present. For example, <xml>ﾐvangﾂline</xml> is correctly converted to "ﾐvangﾂline".
Customers using WTX transform binary action to transform XML containing escaped characters like "É" are affected. The characters will not be converted to correct characters in the output data.
Fix is available in 188.8.131.52, 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 For a list of the latest fix packs available, please see: http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21237631
