Error description
If a directory that is not in the include list is renamed, and that directory contains files that were previously backed up, the backups of those files remain under the original directory name. Consider a configuration where only the *.doc extension is in the include list. If a backup happens for MyFile.doc in a directory named DirectoryA, FastBack for Workstations/Tivoli CDP for Files backs up the file into its own copy of DirectoryA. If DirectoryA is renamed to DirectoryB, FastBack will do nothing because MyFile.doc has not changed. If the clients hard drive died after this and a full restore on a new hard drive is performed, MyFile.doc would not restore to DirectoryB as expected, but instead restore to DirectoryA.
Local fix
Run an initial backup after moving the directory to force all the included files in the new location to be backed up.
Problem summary
When a directory is moved or renamed into a loc ation that is in the include list the files within the directory are not backed up until the files are changed.
Problem conclusion
This functionality has been changed in 6.3.1 .2 or higher
