Error description

  • To assign a client to a specific central administration group,
the client had to be discovered by the Central Administration
Console (CAC) and then the administrator would assign the
newly discovered client to the specific group.

Local fix

  • CAC administrator needs to assign the newly discovered client
    to the specific administration group.

Problem summary

  • No easy way to assign a new client to a specifi
c administration group during the install.

Problem conclusion

  • This enhancement in 6.3.1.0 allow a client
to be assigned to a administration group during install.
    Enter: Group="group name"
In the config-set portion of a pre-configured fpa.txt for the ne
w client. When the central administration server discovers the
new client, it will assign that client to the group.
NOTE: You can not use this technique to change the client's grou
p after it has been discovered by the central administration ser
    ver.
