Error description
Global Cache allows its WebSphere eXtreme Scale components to place the primary and replica shard for a piece of data on the same physical host, leading to loss of this data if that host fails. It should instruct the WXS components to place the primary and replica on different hosts if it detects that the cache topology has more than one catalog server, on more than one host.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** USERS AFFECTED: All users of WebSphere Message Broker V8.0.0.1 using the Global Cache feature. Platforms affected: z/OS, MultiPlatform **************************************************************** PROBLEM SUMMARY: If a set of brokers or execution groups are configured to share data using the Global Cache feature (introduced in 8.0.0.1) across multiple systems, then data loss can occur if a primary shard and corresponding secondary shard are located on the same system, and that system goes down. The Global Cache functionality should place the secondary shard on another system, so that the data continues to be available even if the system hosting the primary shard goes down.
Problem conclusion
WebSphere Message Broker has been modified to correctly place the secondary shard on a different system to the primary shard when the Global Cache is being used to share data across multiple systems. --------------------------------------------------------------- The fix is targeted for delivery in the following PTFs: Platform v8.0 -------- -------------------- Multiplatforms 8.0.0.2 The latest available maintenance can be obtained from 'WebSphere Message Broker Recommended Fixes' http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg27006041 If the maintenance level is not yet available, information on its planned availability can be found in 'WebSphere Message Broker Planned Maintenance Release Dates' http://www-1.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?rs=849&uid=swg27006308 ---------------------------------------------------------------
