IC87352: DOCUMENTATION REGARDING DRM AND RELATED TASKS NEEDS TO BE UPDATED

Error description

• There is a small timing window in which conflicting MOVE DRMEDIA
  and storage pool backup processes may attempt to access the same
  volume.  The result is that the volume will be ejected from the
  tape library, but the volume attributes are not updated as
  expected:
  
     ANR6707W MOVE DRMEDIA: The state, access and location
     attributes of the copy storage pool volume <volser> were not
     updated.
  
  The timing window in which this contention can occur cannot be
  avoided and, as such, the Tivoli Storage Manager documentation
  should be updated to clearly indicate that the MOVE DRMEDIA and
  BACKUP STGPOOL processes should not be run concurrently.  In
  addition, the documentation should also provide more detailed
  instructions as to the correct sequence in which the DRM-related
  operations should be performed.

Local fix

• Reschedule the BACKUP STGPOOL and MOVE DRMEDIA processes such
  that the MOVE DRMEDIA process is only started after all storage
  pool backups have completed.

Problem conclusion

• In the Administrator's Reference, the section pertaining to
  the BACKUP
  STGPOOL command will be updated with the following note:
  
  "Restriction: Do not run the MOVE DRMEDIA and BACKUP STGPOOL
  commands
  concurrently. Ensure that the BACKUP STGPOOL command is
  complete before you
  issue the MOVE DRMEDIA command."
  
  The section pertaining to the MOVE DRMEDIA command will be
  updated with the
  following note:
  
  "Restriction: Do not run the MOVE DRMEDIA and BACKUP STGPOOL
  commands
  concurrently. Ensure that the storage pool backup processes
  are complete
  before you issue the MOVE DRMEDIA command."
  
  In the ANR6707W message, which pertains to the MOVE DRMEDIA
  command, the
  User Response section will be updated as follows:
  
  "Wait until the conflicting volume activity has completed, and
  then reissue
  the MOVE DRMEDIA command. Do not run the MOVE DRMEDIA and
  BACKUP STGPOOL
  commands concurrently. Ensure that the BACKUP STGPOOL command
  is complete
  before you issue the MOVE DRMEDIA command."
  
  In the Administrator's Guide, the sections "Protecting the
  database and
  storage pools," "Moving copy storage pool and active-data pool
  volumes off-
  site," "Summary of disaster recovery manager daily tasks," and
  "Staying
  prepared for a disaster" will be updated with these
  restrictions:
  
  - Ensure that backup processes for the storage pool and the
  database are
  complete before issuing the MOVE DRMEDIA command.
  - Ensure that the primary storage pool backup process is
  complete before
  backing up the database.
  
  In the "Staying prepared for a disaster" section, users will
  be reminded
  that they can maintain and schedule custom maintenance
  scripts. Instructions
  will be added to that section and will be published in Techdoc
