IC87336: "VALUE OUT OF RANGE" MESSAGE WHEN CREATING STORAGE VOLUME

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Currently, any size of storage volume can be selected but the
  below error will occur as the real limit is 1.8 TB.
  
  Error message: "this value is out of range"
  

Local fix

• No to use Disk allocation greater than 1.8 TB.
  

Problem summary

• When users create storage volume using "Customize settings"
  option for "Volume configration", the maximum size the users
  can specified is 256MB even though the true maximum size
  is 1.8TB.  The users will get "Value out of range" error
  when specifying a number larger than 262145MB.
  In addition, if the users define storage volume using
  cloud group volume configuration, the user can specified
  a volume size greater than 1.8TB without error.  However,
  when they try to create a storage volume with this
  definition using "Existing settings" option, it will fail.
  

Problem conclusion

• The code was updated to correctly check the valid range
  from 1 to 1800000MB in both UI location, customize
  setting and existing setting.
