Error description

  • SSP (Doc only) - Update the SSP Planning and Installation
    Guide with reminder to re-run the setupHSM tool after an upgrade

Problem summary

  • During an SSP upgrade for a site using an HSM device to manage
    key certificates, the upgrade process wiped out changes in the
    java.security properties file.
    

Problem conclusion

  • Updating the SSP 3.4.1 Planning and Installation
    Guide in the following locations with the following changes:
    
    - Install or Upgrade the Engine on Microsoft Windows, pp 11-12.
    Add step 11:
      "If you are upgrading Sterling Secure Proxy and HSM was
    enabled, you must run the setupHSM script after the upgrade to
    reenable HSM. See the setupHSM command in the Sterling Secure
    Proxy: Certificates Guide."
    
    Additional locations:
    - Install or Upgrade CM on Microsoft Windows, pp 12-13. Add step
