APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A restore has a higer priority than node replication. The node
    replication process will be preempted. This is working as
    designed. This apar will add a message to indicate why node
    replication failed.
    
    The following messages will be in the activity log on the
    source server:
    ANR0984I Process # for Replicate Node started in the BACKGROUND
    ANR2110I REPLICATE NODE started as process #.
    ANR0987I Process # for Replicate Node running in the BACKGROUND
    processed # items with a completion state of FAILURE at
    ANR1893E Process # for Replicate Node completed with a
    completion
    state of FAILURE.
    Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: 6.3
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    REPL Trace on the target server will show:
    ■smrepl.c■10335■TranslateToGRC:abort reason code = 38
    reason code 38 = ABORT_RESTORE_IN_PROGRESS
    Initial Impact: medium
    Additional Keywords: tsm tivoli storage manager server

  • Wait for the restore to finish or cancel it before running Node
    Replication

Problem conclusion

  • This problem was fixed.
    Affected platforms:  AIX, HP-UX, Solaris, Linux, and Windows.
    
    A new message will be issued.
