APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • A client application fails to connect to MQ 7.1 or 7.5 with
    NOT_AUTHORIZED error when SVRCONN channel uses a channel
    authentication record. This problem occurs only when the client
    chooses AuthenticationType MQCSP_AUTH_USER_ID_AND_PWD.

Local fix

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    USERS AFFECTED:
    Users using channels with CHLAUTH and AuthenticationType
    MQCSP_AUTH_USER_ID_AND_PWD
    
    
    Platforms affected:

    PROBLEM SUMMARY:
    The problem occurred because the MCA user was incorrectly reset
    to the original user ID sent by the client.
    

Problem conclusion

  • WebSphere MQ channel code has been modified to correctly set the
    MCA user ID.
