Error description
Sterling Control Center 5.3.02 crashes because out-of-memory on Spet 21. Used runEngine.sh start SCC, after a few minutes SCC crashes once again. Engine Log hinted the failure associated with specific node. Found a node .ckpt file the LastPollDateTime Sep 11, we set the Production DB retention period is seven days. Used runEngineCold.sh start for SCC back to normal.

Problem summary
Description of issue: When the engine has been down for a while and monitoring is resumed from the point at which it stopped, if the stats collected are older than the oldest partition a SQL exception may occur depending on the type of database in use, and when that happens the engine will shut down.
Problem conclusion
Description of fix: Not going to collect stats older than the oldest partition.
Temporary fix
Awaiting customer fix verification.
