The Fastback for Workstations and Continuous Data Protection for Files client can get into a state where backups do not appear to be running. This can be caused by a defect when expiration is configured to run. When hovering the mouse cursor over the icon in the lower-right corner of the GUI, the remote backup thread appears to be in an Active state but it does not appear to be progressing with a high number of files pending. The Scheduled backup could also be in a Preempted state. If there is a purgedeletes.xml file in the CDP for Files/FastBack for Workstations data directory then the client may be experiencing this expiration problem. Disable expiration and by setting it to never. Close the GUI and open the Windows task manager and end the filepathsrv.exe process. Delete the file purgedeleteds.xml from the CDP or Fastback for Workstations data directory. Reboot the machine or restart the client from the Start Ment -> All Programs -> Startup.
