IC86731: VIRTUAL SYSTEM PATTERN DEPLOYMENT DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY WITH ERROR "JAVA.UTIL.CONCURRENT.EXECUTIONEXCEPTION"

Error description

• This is a basic deployment with 1 DMgr and 2 Custom Nodes.
  Each Custom Node has 7 instances with 8 CPUs and 32Gb of memory.
  
  Virtual system pattern deployment did not complete successfully
  with error "java.util.concurrent.ExecutionException:
  com.ibm.venture.vm.VirtualizationShimException: Task failed on
  VMware server. reason: No compatible host has sufficient
  resources to satisfy the reservation" in
  VirtualizationShimException*.log
  

Local fix

Problem summary

• When deploying two virtual system pattern with different
  resource requirements (for example 1 core and 2GB memory versus
  8 cores and 32 GB of memory), IBM PureApplication System
  mistakenly groups the deployment into a single request with the
  resource reservation for the first virtualmachine.  The order of
  the virtual machines will be the order in the deployment list.
  
  The following error will occur when the larger virtual machines
  is deployed: com.ibm.venture.vm.VirtualizationShimException:
  Task failed on VMware server.
  reason: No compatible host has sufficient resources to satisfy
  the reservation.
  

Problem conclusion

• Code has been implemented to put virtual machines with different
  resource requirements in different groups.
