Error description

  • TPC-R 5.1 does not support issuing 'Start Global Copy' command
    if the GM session is Single Direction or part of the MGM
    session. GM with failover failback with/without Practice Volume
    is supported. This needs to be documented in TPC InfoCenter for
    5.1
    

Local fix

Problem summary

  • The session types, Global Mirror Single direction nor the Global
    Mirror part of a Multi Global Mirror session support
    the Global Copy mode. Global copy mode is only available for
    Metro mirror single direction
    Metro mirror and Global mirror fail over failback
    Metro mirror and Global mirror fail over failback w/ practice
    Global mirror fail over failback Either Direction w/ Two Site
    Practice
    

Problem conclusion

  • The documentation will be updated to reflect that Global Copy
    (Start GC command) is not available for certain session types.
