Error description

  • Custom application that starts PCOM sessions and interacts with
    the user to access a 3270 host appplication gets application
    error on Windows 7 operating system several times per day. This
    did not happen on Windows XP operating system.
    
    Event log shows:
    Faulting application name: pcsws.exe, version: 6000.1.10146.892,
    time stamp: 0x4bfd70e4
    Faulting module name: PCSWLIB.dll, version: 6000.1.10146.892,
    time stamp: 0x4bfd8dcd
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x000065a8
    
    The same failure is seen with PCOM 6.0.4 level.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSWS.EXE has been changed to correct the exception error.
    
    Fix scheduled for PCOM 6.0.6 Refresh Pack
