IC85250: EXECUTION GROUP TERMINATES IF ERROR WHILST CHECKING DEBUG PORT

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• If a debug port has been enabled for an execution group, a
  check will be made on startup to verify whether it is
  already in use or not. If a socket exception is thrown
  during this check, the execution group will
  terminate and restart repeatedly. Messages BIP3150S,
  BIP2203E and BIP2116E may be written to the system log.
  This problem can occur if the Domain Name Server is
  unavailable, for example.

  PROBLEM SUMMARY:
  If a debug port has been enabled for an execution group, a check
  will be made on execution group startup to verify whether that
  port is already in use or not. If a socket exception is thrown
  during this check, the exception is not caught and handled.
  Instead, the execution group will terminate and restart
  repeatedly. Messages BIP3150S, BIP2203E and BIP2116E may be
  written to the system log. This problem may occur, for
  example, if the Domain Name Server is unavailable.
  

Problem conclusion

• WebSphere Message Broker has been modified to catch a socket
  exception when checking the debug port. If a socket exception is
  caught, the debug port is disabled and warning message
  BIP7413W is written to the system log.
