APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Issue with change db2 port from 50000 to 50001 on discovery
    engine for validator .  File dv-db2-xa-plan.xml
    under %Discovery_Install_Folder%\Discovery
    Server\var\DiscoveryConfig is missing port number
    

Local fix

  • 1, stop validator application using following link (logon with
    system/Discovery)
    http://localhost:9090/console/portal/Applications/Application%20
    EARs
    
    find the line
    com.ibm.infosphere/exerosdv/2.5.1/ear
    or
    com.ibm.infosphere/exerosdv/2.5.1.2/ear
    
    click stop link
    
    2,
    open dos cmd and go to %Discovery_Install_Folder%\Discovery
    Server\bin
    (By default is: C:\Program
    Files\IBM\InfoSphere\Discovery\Discovery Server\bin)
    
    run following cmd to undeploy DVDS datasource
    
    deploy --user system --password Discovery --port 6338 undeploy
    DVDS

    open notepad to modify the file dv-db2-xa-plan.xml
    under %Discovery_Install_Folder%\Discovery
    Server\var\DiscoveryConfig
    
    add a new line under the line of <config-property-setting
    name="ServerName">localhost</config-property-setting>
    
    <config-property-setting
    name="PortNumber">50001</config-property-setting>
    
    save the file. (for Disvovery 4.6.1, you need add it at two
    place)
    
    4,
    redeploy DVDS data source in same folder as step 2 using cmd
    below
    
    deploy --user system --password Discovery --port 6338 deploy
    ../var/DiscoveryConfig/dv-db2-xa-plan.xml
    ../repository/org/tranql/tranql-connector-db2-xa/1.4/tranql-conn
    ector-db2-xa-1.4.rar
    
    5,  back to same UI as described at step 1
    find the line
    com.ibm.infosphere/exerosdv/2.5.1/ear
    or
    com.ibm.infosphere/exerosdv/2.5.1.2/ear
    
    click Start link
    
    6, wait application started and logout, go to validator
    dashboard,
