Error description

  • When a client principal is connected to a large number of AD
    (active directory) groups, the response size from the KDC (key
    distribution center) is larger.  The DataPower extension
    function dp:get-kerberos-apreq fails with the following error if
    the response from the KDC exceeds 4096 bytes:

Local fix

Problem summary

  • A Kerberos KDC response larger than 4096 bytes is rejected by
    DataPower, resulting in the error "Invalid network response from
    KDC"
    

Problem conclusion

  • The fix is available in 3.8.2.14, 4.0.1.12, 4.0.2.8 and 5.0.0.1
