APAR status

Error description

  • Get PM report via getrpt cmd from 2 different TPC servers had
    inconsistent daily 24-hour data output. The way the get PM
    report for 24-hour period suppose to work for 4.2.1 and prior to
    4.2.1 are as follows:
    * If requested perf report from 12 AM for 24 hours (12 AM to
    11:59PM) for that day. The output of getrpt cmd (or gui output)
    would depend on where the getrpt is run (or if the gui is remote
    or local to TPC server)
    * If getrpt/gui is run from the same timezone as the server,
    then only one day of data is shown (12 AM to 11:59 PM).
    * However, if getrpt/gui is run from a computer that is in a
    different timezone than the TPC server, then the 24 hour data
    really spans 2 days.
    * In TPC 4.2, the output would show 2 days of data due to the
    24-hour spans more than one day (say from 3 AM to 2:59AM the
    next day, if timezone difference is 3 hours).
    * Prior to 4.2, output would only shown one day, no cross over
    to next (or prior) day.

Problem conclusion

  • The reports should be in sync.  The fix for this APAR is
    targeted for the following  maintenance package:
