APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After multiple days of running heavy provisioning operations,
  the Java heap is exhuasted and operations will fail.
  

Local fix

• Restart the TPC device server.
  

Problem summary

  *                 number of Disk Manager operations (~7000     *
  *                 operations per 512mb of heap memory) to      *
  *                 surface                                      *
  ****************************************************************
  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Disk Manager operations were not        *
  *                      properly cleaning up JobInfo objects    *
  *                      that contained job information. This    *
  *                      causes a memory leak that eventually    *
  *                      will exhause the JVM heap and cause     *
  *                      an out of memory condition.  Over       *
  *                      time, the memory leak can be detected   *
  *                      even if the memory is not fully         *
  *                      exhausted.                              *

Problem conclusion

• The fix properly deletes existing JobInfo objects when they
  are no longer needed to free up the memory.  The fix for this
  APAR is targeted for the following maintenance package:
