IC80473: TIVOLI CDP FOR FILES CLIENT UPGRADES MAY FAIL FOR NON-ENGLISH SYSTEM

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Tivoli CDP for Files client upgrade from version 3.1.8.1 or
  lower to any version between 3.1.8.2 - 3.1.9.4 will fail if its
  performed on a non-English language/locale Windows system.
  
  L2 Diagnostic:
  Here is the error in the install log file incase installer is
  run on a non English/locale Windows system:
  
  When run the installation from command line and redirect the
  output in file:
   6.1.3-TIV-FB4WKSTNS-x86_windows-FP004.exe /S /v"/l*v
  c:\tmp\msi.log"
  
  msi.log shows following error:
  .
  MSI (c) (C0:7C) [20:55:52:250]: IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
  FastBack for Workstations - 2229  Database: . Could not load
  table 'LaunchCondition' in SQL query: SELECT `Condition`,
  `Description` FROM `LaunchCondition`.
  

Local fix

Problem summary

•  Tivoli CDP for Files client upgrades from v
  ersion 3.1.8.1 or lower to any version between 3.1.8.2 -3.1.9.4
  for Non-English installs will fail on the upgrade install.
  

Problem conclusion

•  Fixed in version 3.1.9.5 or higher in Tivoli
  CDP for Files
