Error description
MQe application frequently gets the following error: [11-11 15:26:30.860] MQERETURN_QUEUE_MANAGER_ERROR(0x400000) MQEREASON_INTERNAL_ERROR(0xE)[11-11 15:26:30.860] . In some instances, the MQe application was unable to send message to the MQe Gateway because of this error.
Local fix
Problem summary
After the channel timeout on the server side the client has tried to put message and failed with Channel error. This has caused the channel issue. The MQe trace shows the channel issue: ---------- [1320983204754] (4060) {Channel ID} ----------} [1320983204754] (4060) MASTER_CHANNEL_CHECKRETURN (rc= MQERETURN_CHANNEL_ERROR), (erc= MQEREASON_CHANNEL_ID)
Problem conclusion
It was the responsibility of the client to free the old invalid channel and create a new channel. The code for this is already available in the WebSphere MQ Everyplace C Native Code base but it does not get invoked in one of the cases. The fix for this issue ensures that a new channel is created by the WebSphere MQ Everyplace client when there is a channel timeout.
