    DETAIL OF PROBLEM (include example(s) of error(s)): Storage
    Resource Agent install to a Solaris 10 host fails repeatedly,
    locally or via remote install.  To differentiate this specific
    installation failure from other Return Code 111 installation
    failures, the trace file details of the probe display:

    RECREATE:  Problem does not duplicate in the lab.  Development
    identified the problem as attributed to data collected and
    resized via CHECKSTRING().  Repeated calls to string::resize()
    seems to aggregate into a segmentation fault on this customer's
    machine, so limiting/eliminating unnecessary and/or repeated
    calls to resize() has prevented the probe failure.

    Heap corruption due to a core dump
    

Problem conclusion

  • A code change has been made to avoid the heap corruption.  The
    fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
    packages:
