Error description

  • Probe from ESX server to NFS share fails due to timeout
    producing error message
    Timeout is caused by the large number of files on NFS share
    the NFS share creates a timeout situation causing the ESX server
    to close the connection and probe to fail.

Problem summary

Problem conclusion

  • Option is added to skip NFS datastore browing. Will not be
    documented as skipping can compomise data (hence reports)
    integrity if NFS volumes have VM specific files.
    
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
    packages:
