IC74106: TPC SENSOR FOR TADDM IS NOT PICKING UP ALL LPARS DURING DISCOVERY.

4.2.1 Interim Fix 1 (November 2011) for Tivoli Storage Productivity Center

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During discovery TPC Sensor is not correctly collecting the MAC
  addresses for the individual LPARs on a VIO managed AIX Server.
  When TADDM reconciles the data it creates duplicate entries for
  the LPARs, one with storage attached, the other without.  The
  reconciliation plugin uses MAC address to properly merge the
  data.   Because MAC address is not working customer only has the
  choice of ignoring AIX systems and get no data at all, or have
  duplicates of which neither can be deleted as neither contains
  complete information.

  This information is collected by TPC Data Agents and also the
   Storage Resource Agents.  Fix is necessary for TPC Agents
  

Local fix

• N/A  No workaround available, duplicate entries contain subset
   of information, deleting one entry in TADDM causes incomplete
   information.

Problem conclusion

• A code change has been made to correctly collect the MAC
  address(es) for AIX systems for both the Data and Storage
  Resource Agents.  The fix for this APAR is targeted for the
