Error description

  • The symptoms of the problem are different depending on whether
the scanning agent is running on
Unix or Windows, or if one or multiple file systems have been
    selected at once when associating
    them with a scanning agent.
-> only one file system has been selected in
    "Scan/Probe Agent Administration" for an
agent, and then save has been clicked.
-> Scanning Agent is on Unix
In this case there will be no error, and the
    scan will work fine
-> Scanning Agent is on Windows
The file system will appear in scan
definition but the scan job defined for it
    will fail

-> multiple file systems have been selected in
    "Scan/Probe Agent
    Administration"
In the scan definition will appear only one of
the file systems selected and if the
agent is on Windows the scan will failed.
The Unix agent, though, will scan that single
    file system.

The agent returns back to Data Server the first file system in
the list duplicated, which causes the exception in "Problem
description". Because of the exception only the first file
system is saved but incompletely. The exception also causes
the domain of the filer to be deleted, which in turn will
cause the Windows scan to fail.
