  • when customer unplugs a fibre channel cable, the tpc topology
    display does not update to show the change or alert.

    * USERS AFFECTED: TPC 4.1.x and 4.2.x users of Data Path       *
    *                 Explorer where the Disks reside on a         *
    *                 Windows server                               *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: TPC is unable to generate all data      *
    *                      paths for disks that reside on a        *
    *                      Windows server when the data paths      *
    *                      have been physically disconnected and   *
    *                      reconnected from the fabric.            *
    *                                                              *
    *                      A TPC Data agent successfully probed    *
    *                      on a supported Windows system does      *
    *                      not yield all the path information      *
    *                      needed for the TPC Data Path Explorer   *
    *                      (DPE) in the TPC Topology viewer after  *
    *                      a fabric connection has been            *
    *                      physically disconnected and             *
    *                      reconnected.  When attempting to        *
    *                      generate the data paths, only some of   *
    *                      the data paths are found.  This         *
    *                      occurs even when successfully probing   *
    *                      the fabrics and subsystems that         *
    *                      contain the connection information      *
    *                      needed to relate the storage subsystem  *
    *                      volumes to the Windows disks.  This     *
    *                      also occurs after a reboot of the       *
    *                      Windows system following the            *
    *                      connection of the host ports to the     *
    *                      fabric.                                 *

Problem conclusion

  • The data correlation has been corrected with a code change.
    The fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
