Error description

  • The Script parameters in "Specify Script" dialog for "PM Monitor
Failed" alert, do not correspond to the actual parameters send
to the script. The real parameters sent are:
    $1 = <empty string>
    $2 = <name of the device>
    $3 = <empty string>
    $4 = <empty string>
    $5 = <empty string>
    .
Besides correcting the info in "Specify Script" dialog, will
also add some actual values instead of the <empty string>
    Re-create steps:
Disk Manager > Monitoring > Subsystem Performance Monitors >
select any available storage subsystems or right-click to Create
Subsystem Performance Monitor to define alert under Alert panel.
There should be 5 parameters, but when alert is triggered, only
    2 parameters are received

Problem conclusion

  • Now there are 7 relevant parameters added that are filled
    correctly:
    $1 = Performance Monitor
    $2 = <creator>. <name>

    $3 =<run-number>
$4 = <failing-device>. The device for which the monitor
    failed.
$5 = <starting-time>. starting time of the monitor for the
    failed device
$6 = <stopping-time>. time when the monitor for the device
    failed.
$7 = <stats-saved>. a count of the number of performance
statistics records saved by the monitor for the device, during
    its life time.
