    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Shift+Esc key mapping does not work on *
    *                      some hardware using PCOM 6.0            *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    Users with Windows 7 + PCOMM6.0 on ThinkCentre M90 Eco Ultra
    Small Type:3853-E1J cannot use Sysreq key by pressing Shift +
    Esc. The trace shows no keystroke entry. KMP maps Shift+Esc to
    ísys reqù. ESC key alone works fine on customer system.

    The problem only occurs on some specific machines. ThinkCentre
    M90 with A2/ Lenovo Preferred Pro USB Fingerprint keyboard in
    this case. With user's specific hardware, when Shift and Esc
    key are pressed at the same time, the original function to
    detect the Shift key status returns KeyUp instead of KeyDown,
    so PCOMM will mis-convert the key function.

Problem conclusion

  • PCSKBD.DLL has been changed to do additional key status detect
    checking before converting the Shift key function.

    Fix is scheduled for PCOM 5.9.7 Manufacturing Refresh
    Fix is scheduled for PCOM 6.0.1.1 Refresh Pack

Temporary fix
