IC69702: WMQFTE V7 DATABASE LOGGER IS TERMINATED WHEN STARTING WITHOUT -F PARAMETER

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• When starting the WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition v7
  database logger via fteStartDatabaseLogger, the -F parameter is
  used to start the process as a foreground process (rather than
  as the default background process). If the optional -F
  parameter is not used then the database logger will terminate
  immediately. If the -F parameter is used then the database
  logger will start as expected.
    There are no error messages or error codes but one symptom
  that may indicate the issue occurred is that there is nothing
  written to the output0.log file for this attempt to start the
  db logger.

Local fix

Problem summary

• The database logger could not be started as a background process
  due to incorrect parsing of the properties that were being
  passed to the JVM.

  All supported
  

Problem conclusion

• CONCLUSION:
  The code that parses the properties to pass to the JVM was
  changed so that these properties are now parsed correctly.
  

Temporary fix

• An iFix is available on request
