IC69246: TPC DBSCHEMA UPGRADE FAILS

4.2.1 Interim Fix 1 (November 2011) for Tivoli Storage Productivity Center

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• TPC dbschema upgrade fails with error INS5007E: Installation
  failed (log: '{0}').
  Root cause is that the environmental variable %TEMP% is set with
  spaces embedded in it resulting in the file tpcdbcfg.out being
  written to a different location.
  This will result in the installer not being able to locate the
  file which is needed in order continue with the upgrade.
  
  Need to address the issue by either changing the installer code
  so that it can handle %TEMP%  with spaces or improve debugging
  to show FileNotFound Exception in dbschemainstall.log, so that
  customer can edit %TEMP% to a path devoid of spaces.
  
  RECREATE STEPS:
  Perform a TPC upgrade with spaces embedded in variable %TEMP%.
  

Local fix

• Set %TEMP% with no spaces.
  Example,  change %TEMP% to C:\temp.

• A fix has been made to better handle spacew within the path
  for %TEMP%.  It is targeted for the following maintenance
