IC68908: /OPT SPACE REQUIREMENT OF 10MB IS INADEQUATE FOR TIVOLI STORAGE MANAGER V6

• Closed as documentation error.

Error description

• The documentation provided with Tivoli Storage Manager Server
  6.1 and 6.2
  indicate that only 10MB space is required for the /opt mount
  point in the event that a
  separate mount point for /opt/tivoli/tsm is created. This is
  incorrect.
  The installation will fail unless at least 30MB of space is free
  on the /opt mount point.
  Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected:
  Tivoli Storage Manager Server 6.1 and 6.2
  The following messages will be present in the log files
  generated by the install process:
  com.ibm.ac.si.install.InstallException: ACUINI0083E The
  Deployment Engine install failed
  because Deployment Engine was unable to successfully install
  CIT.
  
  Starting file extraction... File extraction failed, error = 6
  (Cannot write file (out of space))
  Installation failed, rolling back
  

Local fix

• Allocate additional space to the /opt mount point location to
  ensure that at least 30MB of
  free space is present.
