IC68457: IC68154 FIX COMPLETION: INSTALLATION OF 4.1.1.84 WITH LDAP FAILS

4.2.1 Interim Fix 1 (November 2011) for Tivoli Storage Productivity Center

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• All LDAP installs from 4.1.1.84 (FP3) will fail.  Upgrades are
  not affected by this.  The following error is seen:
  
  The following command failed:
  DESCRIPTION : Insalling Tivoli Integrated Portal...
  OUTPUT FILE : /opt/IBM/TPC/log/tip/install/TIPPTFInstall.out
  See the error and oupt files for more details.
  
  The installation does not complete successfully.
  

Local fix

• The user can install with OS authentication and then change to
  LDAP.
  

Problem summary

  * USERS AFFECTED: Those doing new installations of TPC         *
  *                 4.1.1.84 (FP3).                              *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Installation failed at TIP and          *
  *                      subsequently uninstalled all of TPC     *
  *                      when LDAP was used.                     *
  ****************************************************************
  * RECOMMENDATION: Use TPC 4.1.1.85 or a later level            *
  ****************************************************************
  This does not affect new installations using OS authorization
  or upgrades to 4.1.1.84 using LDAP or OS authorization.
  

Problem conclusion

• A code change was made to resolve the installation issue.  The
  fix for this APAR is targeted for the following maintenance
  packages:

      | fix pack | 4.1.1-TIV-TPC-FP0004 - target July 2010
