APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During heavy workload, for instance when several hundred Tivoli
  Storage Manager client sessions are active at once, a Tivoli
  Storage Manager 6.1/6.2 server may fail to open new
  database connections causing eventually the server to stop
  working.

  Following message can be seen in the ACTLOG:
  <date> <time> ANR9999D_0015032189 FindPoolToUse(dbiconn.c:1127)
  Thread<xx>: Pool count error: DBV->lastPool 3;
  MAX_NUM_CONNECTION_POOLS 10, DBV->poolCount 3
  
  with DBV->lastPool being the same as DBV->poolCount.  This puts
  the server into a state where no database connections can be
  started, and so it eventually stops doing any additional work.
  This usually occurs when the server has a heavy workload.
