IC68108: TSM SERVER RECEIVES ANR9999D WHILE OPENING SHARED MEMORY IN WINDOWS CLUSTER ENVIRONMENTS

APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • In certain cases the TSM server will fail to start
    during failover in Windows 2003 and 2008 cluster
    environments when trying to access shared memory.
    The operation fails with a Windows return code 5
    which translates to "Access is denied." This occurs
    when the TSM service is using a different Windows
    user ID than the cluster service.

Local fix

  • Change the login properties on the DB2 manager for the
    TSM server instance along with the TSM server service to use the
    same Windows user ID as the cluster service.
