IC67988: INCREMENTAL BACKUP CAN HANG WHEN PROCESSING A DIRECTORY WITH MANY FILES

The Tivoli Storage Manager Backup/Archive client can hang for a long period of time when backing up to a 6.1 or higher server. When a directory is encountered with a large number of objects, the Backup/Archive client can hang until it ends abnormally either by cancelling or by timing out and causing ANR0530I on the TSM server. Exclude the directory or directories which the Backup/Archive client is processing when the hang occurs. Alternately, use selective backup to work around the problem. Install fixing maintenance when available.
