Error description

  • A core file is produced by the TSM 6.2.0 API when the calling
application uses the dlopen() function call to load and
manipulate the TSM API library. The core file is created after
executing the dlclose() function as a part of exiting the main
process. Though a core file may be produced, the outcome of the
operation that generated the core file is unaffected.
    .
This problem affects AIX and HP Itaniumplatforms only.
    .
    Data Protection Versions Affected:
This problem is known to occur when using Data Protection for
Lotus Domino, but the problem has no effect on the Domino Server
    its self.
    .
This problem is known to occur when using Data Protection for
Oracle. In this case, an Oracle core file is produced when the
process exits. The Oracle database is unaffected.
    .
    Initial Impact:
    Low
    .
    Additional Keywords:
dlopen() dlclose() TDP API core dump
    .
    Local Fix:
    .
    DP for Domino:
    ==================
When using Data Protection for Lotus Domino, set the following
environment variable for the Domino user:
    .
    export ICC_NO_CLEANUP=YES
    .
    .
    DP for Oracle:
    ==================
When using Data Protection for Oracle, set the following
environment variable for the Oracle owner user:
    .
    export ICC_NO_CLEANUP=YES
    .
Once this environment variable is defined:
    1) Close any open sessions with Oracle and reconnect the session
so that the new environment variable is active.
    2) Stop and restart the Oracle listener
    .
    .
    Other API Applications:
    =======================
When using other applications, set the following environment
    variable for the application user:
    .
    export ICC_NO_CLEANUP=YES
    .
You may need to restart the application in order for the
environment variable to take effect.Check with the application
vendor if you are unsure whether a restart is required.

Problem conclusion

  • The GSKit component included in the Tivoli Storage Manager
client package was found to have a defect that caused the core
