Error description
Changes to ARCHLOGDIRECTORY, MIRRORLOGDIRECTORY or ARCHFAILOVERLOGDIRECTORY may not be updated in the database manger config if both of the following conditions are true. -1- restore db with "on" parameter is done on a new system -2- dsmserv.opt contains changes to ARCHLOGDIRECTORY, MIRRORLOGDIRECTORY, or ARCHFAILOVERLOGDIRECTORY compared to original system If both of the above conditions are true, the restore will update the location of the database and the active log. It will not update the database manager config with the new settings for ARCHLOGDIRECTORY, MIRRORLOGDIRECTORY, or ARCHFAILOVERLOGDIRECTORY. To confirm the current database manager config issue the following command as the instance user: db2 From the db2 prompt type the following commands: connect to tsmdb1 get db cfg The get db cfg will output Overflow log path (OVERFLOWLOGPATH) Mirror log path (MIRRORLOGPATH) Failover log archive path (FAILARCHPATH) Initial Impact: Medium Tivoli Storage Manager Versions Affected: All 6.1/6.2
Local fix
Edit the logattr.chk text file in the same directory as the dsmserv.opt to contain the ARCHLOGDIRECTORY, MIRRORLOGDIRECTORY, ARCHFAILOVERLOGDIRECTORY paths used on the original system. This will cause the server to update the database manager during the next start with the options as currently specified in the dsmserv.opt.
