Error description
The Tivoli Storage Manager for Space Management (HSM) dsmscoutd may incorrectly issue the following error to the dsmerror.log: . ANS9084E dsmscoutd: /filesystem is not managed or not locally managed by space management. . In some environments, these errors can be reported multiple times per second across every non-owner GPFS node in the cluster. This can cause the dsmerror.log files to grow in size very quickly. . Customer/L2 Diagnostics: Review the dsmerror.log files on each node in the cluster. If ANS9084E errors are being reported constantly, this problem can apply. . Initial Impact: Medium .
Local fix
Reduce distributed migrations if possible and implement dsmerror.log pruning options to limit the size of the file (ERRORLOGRETENTION and ERRORLOGMAX) until a fixing level can be applied.

Problem conclusion
The problem has been fixed so that it no longer occurs.
Temporary fix
An interim fix is currently targeted for version 6.1.3.4. Note that until the interim fix is actually available, this information is subject to change at the discretion of IBM.
