APAR status

Error description

  • With Tivoli Storage Manager 6.1 server, the database backup,
    using backup db command, is now taken using the api client.
    It creates entries in the backups table, as well as entries in
    volume history.
    After database backups have been deleted from volume history,
    with delete volhistory command, the entries
    in backups table are not being deleted.
    
    
    
    L2/Customer diagnostic:
    
    Run a select * from backups where ll_name like '%FULL_BACKUP%'
    .
    and you will see entries like:

    deactivate_date of  1900-01-01 00:00:00.000000   shows that the
    object should get deleted.

Local fix

  • Contact support for a command to delete entries until the fix is
    available.
