• The deletion algorithms used to support deduplicated storage
  pools can cause contention while expiration is running. This
  contention leads to degraded expiration performance.

  On certain platforms, SHOW THREADS can be gathered to show the
  call stacks of running threads. To identify this APAR, you will
  see that the expiration thread spends most of its time on a
  database/table mutex.
