Error description

  • DB2 technote swg21214717 documents the utilities compatible with
an online database backup.
The Tivoli Storage Manager database backup process needs to be
enhanced to consider the documented compatibility.

Local fix

  • If you see a database backup failing because of any of the
restricted conditions met, you can use the following command to
identify running reorgs:
db2pd -d tsmdb1 -reorgs
In case a conflicting reorg process is reported, make sure to
either stop the process (using the db2 reorg comand) or let it
run to completion before trying to submit a database backup
