Error description
Problem Description: A Tivoli Storage Manager server enabled for storage pool deduplication may have one of its "Identify Process" loop and consume 100% CPU. Customer/L2 Diagnostics: A Tivoli Storage Manager server DEDUP trace will show the loop occurring on one or more bitfile. The series of messages that repeat are as follows : <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][6950][BfDedupVolumeThread]: Processing bitfile xxx, segment 0, size 2200. <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][1637][BfAnalyzeBitfile]: Analyzing bfId xxx <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][1762][BfAnalyzeBitfile]: Bitfile xxx in pool Y was stored by a dedupable node(2) <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][1823][BfAnalyzeBitfile]: Bitfile xxx is not an aggregate <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][2410][BuildObjectListFromExisting]: Entering for super bitfile xxx <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][2419][BuildObjectListFromExisting]: Error 1 from BfResolveSuperBitfile for bitfile xxx <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][1853][BfAnalyzeBitfile]: Error 1 from BfGetObjectListForAggr for bitfile xxx <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][2023][BfAnalyzeBitfile]: Exiting for bitfile xxx, rc: 1, numSkipped: 0 <timestamp> [nn][bfdedup.c][6996][BfDedupVolumeThread]: BfAnalyzeBitfile returned rc 1, alreadyAnalyzed True, for bitfile xxx in pool POOLNAME. The loop is caused by the "Error 1 from BfResolveSuperBitfile" entry. TSM Versions Affected: TSM Servers V6.1 on all platforms. Additional Keywords: zz61 dedup performance
