IC61394: TSM CLIENT FAILS BACKUP WHEN FILE OBJECT YEAR DATE STAMP GREATER THAN 2038

Error description

  • TSM client backup fails with the following error messages:
    TransErrno: Unexpected error from lstat, errno = 79
    ANS1999E Incremental processing of '/xyz/zyx' stopped.
    ANS1028S An internal program error occurred.
    
    Customer/L2 Diagnostics:
    In the filespace listed in the error message, verify if any
    files have a year stamp greater then 2038

Local fix

  • Correct the date time stamp to the correct year.  Or add:
    CONTINUEWITHUNKNOWNRC:79
    To the dsm.opt file to skip all errno=79 errors.
    Restart the TSM client scheduler to pick up the new option
